Introducing My Zen Town!

Over the past couple of months I’ve been working hard to completely landscape a town that I’ve had since last March. I’ve been hesitant to introduce this town to my blog until it was nearly completed, and as of right now I’d say it’s about 90% done, so expect a dream address out within the next couple of weeks! So without further ado, here’s Yokohama- my zen-themed town!

I tried my best to create the most peaceful zen town I could

I’m so pleased with how Yokohama turned out!

Yokohama has been a real labour of love. I’ve never fallen in love with a town so much as I have done with Yokohama. I love the little secret paths through the wildflowers, I love the landscaping of the bamboo, and I adore the characters and their zen houses. With my previous job, I was lucky enough to visit Tokyo and I stayed for a while in a city called Yokohama about 40 minutes away from Tokyo. I have such fond memories of my time there so it seemed a really fitting tribute to name my town after a place I really loved.

Ai has changed quite a bit since her first day in town!

Mayor Ai loves gardening, exploring the town, and befriending new villagers!

Meet Mayor Ai! She’s named after the main character of the Dōbutsu no Mori film released in 2006. As you can see, she’s changed quite a lot in the 10 months she’s lived in Yokohama! She owns a lovely tea house which was an absolute pleasure to design.

This is Satsuki, Yokohama’s only other human resident. She runs the town’s bath house.

There’s still some areas that need to be finished, but I’m working really hard to complete those over the next week or so. I’ll save a lot more photos for a town tour post which I hope will be out soon, so keep your eyes peeled for that! As soon as the snow melts in February, I’ll create a dream address for Yokohama so that you guys can explore too!

I know that the town isn’t looking fantastic due to the brown leaves and snow that comes with January’s cold weather, but I hope you can still see the beauty of Yokohama even in the snow!

I really love the geyser PWP!

I’m very lucky and I’ve managed to get all my dreamies for this town. The current villagers are: Chester, Gladys, Pekoe, Merry, Kabuki, Genji, Annalisa, Chow and Greta. Chester is probably my favourite though, he’s so friendly! I just adore lazy villagers so much.

My favourite spot in town! So peaceful.

I’ll update you all ASAP as soon as I make a dream address for Yokohama! I hope you’ve enjoyed this little intro to the town in the meantime.

  1. Yokohama looks stunning, and so calming; I look forward to visiting its DA! I think it’s cool how you’re able to work on the landscaping in the snow, while visualizing how it will look when the snow melts. I bet it feels really good to be so close to finishing this town to yours satisfaction! 😀

    • I’ve literally just got to finish off the two houses and then it’s done! Interior design is the hardest part for me- I love town design so much but I really fall short at home designing! Plus I really do want to wait for the snow to melt and maybe the azalea bushes to start sprouting? Idk we’ll see haha. Thank you though, I can’t wait for you to visit when it’s complete!

      • I’m the same way! I find town designing so enjoyable and engaging, but room designing can be really tedious with all the inventory management involved. Congratulations on coming so far with this town, and good luck with the last few steps! 😀
